Behind the seagrasses of Newport’s Almy Pond, this ranch home underwent a renovation by WKP. Ultimately, the goal was to iterate on the existing space while achieving a more functional footprint. Inside the home, we opened up the floor plan to make it more conducive to modern living. We re-engineered the ceiling to create a vaulted-style ceiling, and replaced the windows and doors to take in the southerly light and serene views of the pond. The homeowner also now has a distinct office space.

The exterior of the Newport home now features new siding, trim and windows - a new front door was installed with a sidelite to beckon brightness into the interior.

On the west exterior, a bluestone patio was constructed allowing the homeowners to entertain in the warmer months. The scope of the outdoor renovation also included a new outdoor shower and veneered retaining wall. Just inside the bluestone terrace, we reimagined basement space to create a workshop for Father-son projects and tinkering.
